Presentation 3: Coeliac Disease: ESPGHAN Position for Management and Follow-up

Learning Objectives: (1) The follow-up of celiac children and adolescents in Europe is unstructured and diverse in different countries and frequently not based on evidence. (2) A recent inquiry among European physicians shows that the follow-up may be improved, especially regarding more rational use of (laboratory) tests, assessment of adherence to the gluten-free diet and quality of life, and transition to adult care. (3) A working group of the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) is preparing a Position Paper summarizing the available evidence to produce recommendations on how to follow-up for children with celiac disease.
