  Learning Objectives: At the end of the session participants will: (1) Understand that the relationship between febrile UTIs and chronic kidney damage has become less certain and that the majority of children with chronic kidney damage have congenital renal hypo-dysplasia, often in association with VUR. (2) Be aware that limited investigation in the form of a renal ultrasound performed on all children following a febrile UTI, can reasonably exclude all major nephro-urologic malformations (3) Be aware of the possible side effects of imaging: higher radiation dose, increased psychological stress and a major economic burden
