Join the Policy Focus Group on LifeCourse Immunization across Europe
Immunisation programmes are able to provide countries with health and long-term economic benefits through direct and indirect (herd) population protection. These benefits may range from reduction in direct cost of health care by living longer and better to reduction in lost days of work and economic returns on labour force.
Virus and diseases cross borders very quickly, especially due to modern travelling. However, policies, surveillance and immunization strategies vary widely across Europe making it hard to control diseases and compare data between countries. Thus, Europe would possibly benefit from a gold standard for vaccination.
As part of the group you will help overview of the vaccines policies, priorities and coverage across Europe and identify possible discrepancies among countries and regions. Our aim is set a Gold Standard for Life Course vaccinations across Europe and define a strategy in terms of mobilization for the European Commission (DGSanté) to move forward on implementing the 2014 Council conclusions and for the European Parliament to adopt resolutions on paediatric and life-course vaccination.
The Policy Focus Group on Life Course Vaccinations will meet on Friday 8th December at EIP in Vienna. The meeting will put frontline healthcare professionals at the center of a new European Parliamentary Resolution that aims to set a gold standard for all vaccinations throughout the full life course, from birth through to old age.
